After the Intermediate Exams and especially Pre-Medical Students who wishes to be a Doctor are the easiest prey for many opportunist like teachers, coaching/preparation centers and last but not least the Government Universities. As the hype of being a doctor increases, a student gets very insecure and falls under the catchy slogans of "Last Year Humaray Center kay 80% Bachon ko Medical Universities mai admission mil gaya, Aptitude test mai last year 100% clear hogaye". These liars play with words and creates a limbo in which students get caught. They charged huge amount in terms of tuition fees and doesn't even bother to counsel a student that, is he/she is able to do it or not. They only want the money which is a primarily a source of concern as they know that only a few lucky ones will get clear the exams which does not guarantee the admission in a Medical University due to limited number of seats available on merit. No one lacks behind in the race to earn money from the process which is more hyped than its actual worth.
After a tough schedule of studying in these centers a student is more burdened due to the pressure which has been built cause of high hopes. This is not enough and stops here, the race to the witch mountain continues with the start of adverts of universities. These Universities now charge handsomely as a entrance test fee. Universities with good reputation and ranking often has ridiculous terms and conditions which has silly and unnecessary requirements who puts on extra burden on a parent's pocket. Some of the most irritating requirements are stated below:-
- The Domicile & PRC which in my view is a waste of money & time (A lengthy process of almost 10 days in getting both or you can bribe to ease it to two days) because after CNIC there is no need of these two documents, as every inch of detail is there with your CNIC.
- Father's Domicile and PRC again it is not as your family information has been recorded in your NADRA Issued CNIC.
- Equivalent Certificate Which is as stupid as you are asking for an apple to prove to be an apple.
- Disability Certificate from the Social Welfare Department which is totally humiliating process for a disabled person who has already in pain due to various requirements for the test. How can you stupid morons add another requirement for a disable person ?
- Declarations & affidavit on Stamp papers what the hell is wrong with universities, they are conducting only written tests not giving admissions that they require these documents. It is an unnecessary restriction.
- The marks deduction policy mostly differs among institutions, don't they have a single reasonable policy on that.
- Last but not least Character Certificate from School & College, this is also a formality as in government colleges a teacher/principal who not know the character of the particular student.
Choosing the right university for you is one of the most difficult decisions to make as the universities only hope to cash your cheques before you get any knowledge about the subject. They will make you fool and explore every possible way to dig money from you without guarantee a prosperous future.
